Welcome to the Official Web Site for Bravo Battery, 3rd Missile Battalion,
71st Artillery Regiment ADA, Karlsruhe, Kornwestheim and Sachsenheim, Germany
(AKA Grossachsenheim.
This Web Site is dedicated to the many thousands of American Soldiers that manned
the front lines in Western Germany during the longest war in American history,
The Cold War.
In particular, we would like to single out the men and women that manned the Nike Ajax
and Nike Hercules SAM sites that were scattered throughout Western Germany during the
years 1957 to 1985.
The dedication and professionalism of the men and women that served in these units
played a huge roll in keeping the peace on the Western front, that many died
to achieve, during WW II.
If you are one of these people, you can take pride in a job well done and we Thank You
for your service.
In 1990 we formed a Veterans Group made up primarily of Veterans from Bravo Battery
of the 3/71st to rekindle and stoke the fire of the friendships that we formed
many years ago.
As a result of this formation, our group started to grow at a rapid pace and we
began making contact with other Veterans that served in the 3/71st.
We found that we had much in common with these Veterans from other units in
the 3/71st and subsequently asked them to join us at our reunions.
From what began in 1990 at our first reunion in Blue Springs, Missouri as a
simple get together for a few old friends, our reunions have blossomed into four
or five day events that bring friends together from all sections of this great Country.
Even though we are very proud of our service in Bravo Battery and want to keep
the memory of that service alive, it is with great pleasure that we welcome all
Veterans that served in the 3/71st to our reunions.
It is from these invitations that we have formed warm, lasting friendships with
many that served in other Batteries, at different times, but now are a big part
of our family group.
If you are a former member of the 3/71st, regardless of when you served, we would
like to hear from you.
Perhaps you are not interested in the reunions, but would like to make contact
with former friends that you have lost contact with.
If this should be the case, please leave a message in our Guest Book and perhaps
some of your old friends might see it.
We have a rather large roster that we maintain for Veterans that served in the 3/71st
and if we can be of any assistance to you in your search, please let us know.
If you would like to learn more about our reunions, please leave a message
and someone will get back with you.
Best Regards to you all,
Clete Hall
